Most women find us the same way — something stopped them mid-scroll, and it just felt like theirs.
You're in the right place.
Peace, pine trees, and a van pointed somewhere worth going
Look closely and you'll see a whole story quilted into this bag: a retro VW-style camper van rendered in teal, creamy white, and a warm burst of orange, with a golden peace symbol on the front panel and rows of tidy rectangular windows across the side. Appliquéd pine trees in sage and forest green rise up from a meadow of pink, purple, and daisy-white wildflowers that spill across the lower body in layered fabric and stitching. The quilting lines run in soft, wavy and diagonal patterns that give the whole surface a padded, dimensional feel. The handles are covered in a golden botanical print fabric, tying the whole palette together. Claire and Riley — two sisters carrying on the Cape May shop their mother Margaret opened in 1978 — spotted this piece and knew immediately it belonged here.
- Peace Sign Front Panel — The appliquéd golden peace symbol sits centered on the teal front face of the van, making the bag instantly recognizable from across a room.
- Details — 19" × 9" × 9", roomy enough for a long weekend and soft enough to squash into a car boot.
- Wildflower Meadow Border — A full band of quilted pink, purple, and white wildflowers with green foliage runs along the base of the bag, built up in layered fabric appliqué.
- Botanical Print Handles — The long top handles are wrapped in a warm yellow-green leaf-print fabric that echoes the green roofline and softens the carry against your hand.
- The Last of This Run — We took what the workshop had left. Once these are gone we will not be getting them again.
- Looking After Her — Spot clean with a soft damp cloth and let her air dry. No tumble dryer — it flattens the quilting.
You set it down at the airport baggage carousel and three strangers ask where you got the quilted camper van bag before your luggage even appears.
⚠ Because every bag is made by hand, small differences in colour, stitching and placement will happen. That is not a fault — it is the proof a person made it.
This bag is handmade and priced accordingly — it is not the right choice if you are looking for the least expensive way to pack a weekend. It is the right choice if you want something that feels personal, travels hard, and still looks like a piece of art when you get where you are going.
“We put it on the floor of the shop and it sold itself before we even tagged it.” — Claire & Riley, Cape May
