This barrel-shaped traveler is covered in a litter of seven kittens — tuxedo cats in black and white, fluffy orange tabbies, a solid black kitten, and a pale grey-and-white longhair — each one rendered in dense, raised embroidery that gives every whisker and ear-tip real dimension. Nestled at their paws are balls of yarn in dusty rose, sage green, burnt orange, and navy, stitched with the same close detail. The quilted body is cream-white with a floral patchwork border running along both ends in soft reds, greens, and corals. Claire and Riley found this piece for the shop their mother Margaret opened here in Cape May in 1978 — and like everything they choose, it stopped them before they could think twice.
