Five witchy cats stitched into every orange-and-purple panel

Look closely and you'll find a whole coven of them: an orange tabby in a purple witch's hat with bright blue eyes, a white cat in her own pointed hat, a sleek black cat wearing a scarf, a green-eyed cat peeking up from the bottom panel, and a tiny black kitten cradling an orange pumpkin — all stitched in raised appliqué against quilted panels of warm golden orange and deep star-scattered purple. The blocks are separated by solid purple sashing, and the surface quilting adds a soft, dimensional texture you can see from across the room. Claire and Riley found this one and didn't hesitate. They've been choosing pieces for this Cape May shop since they took over from their mother Margaret, who opened the doors in 1978 — and a bag this specific, this cheerful, and this well-made is exactly the kind of thing they look for.
